Hunting at Mangrove

Back again hunting! This time around, I joined a hunting with A2C at Eco Park in Pantai Indah Kapuk. I have never been here before, so this would be my first time coming here. For this hunting, I also had the chance to test out the 135 f2.0L lens. I’ve tried this lens before, and very satisfied with the Bokeh I made with this lens.

About the location, it is a mangrove. Many locals come here for fishing and some others are for picnic. While others are here for photography. There are some nice spots to take photos. One of the most shot location is this bridge, taken with the lovely Rini as the model:

Many people use the combination of the green from the trees and the green from the bridge’s fences, and make them bokeh. But don’t lean too much on these fences, as they are a bit wobbly. The disadvantage of this location is that it is narrow. When you have a group of 10 people taking shots, you have to take turns. And if there are people passing by, you have to wait until they pass you.

Since I use a fixed lens, my movement is restricted. Probably this is the biggest disadvantage of this lens. Especially when you have 9 other guys pointing their lenses only a meter away from the model. I guess this can also force you to be creative with your angles and positioning.

There are 7 models in total. And here is the slide show of the pictures that I took during this hunting:

May Day @ Gedung Pos Kota Tua

Today is known as May Day or the labour day. But I spend the day at Kota Tua, doing photoshoot. Once again, it is held by A2C. There are 8 models posing for the day. Each group consists of 10 people and we got rotated every 20 minutes. I only took the morning session. it started at 9 am, and finish at 12 pm. Here are the models:

About the location, it is located at Kota Tua next to Batavia cafe. It is an old building and it is empty. We had our photoshoot on the 2nd floor. There are people who actually live on the first floor. There are no props available around that we can use, since the building is empty. There are a lot of windows in the building, so I take advantage of it for the lighting and lots of pictures are taken with backlighting. I also managed to borrow and test the 135 L 2.0 canon lens..

On forum, the reporting of the event has also been posted.
